Funny thing, if you take whole plant medicines, instead of concentrated derivitives, you may find that birch/willow is a very healing plant. I make and use it often, and yes, it is to be respected. There are more than 200 other constituents in birch tincture, that we have bothered to test for, so far. Whole plant balances itself. Imagine if only one aspect of your personality goes to a party...

Why frame this as an issue for "the American State"? We who are US residents are most familiar with the history here, of course, but the complex of pharma industry-academe-medical profession-"public health" is very much an international project. Things aren't essentially different elsewhere, as far as I can tell. Is there somewhere on earth that's truly outside of this regime?

About the american healthcare system - it never was any good. The book, Murder by injection, by Dr Mullins, written 50 years or so ago, tells all about it. No vaccine is safe, several books to prove that. I have been using homeopathic and herbal meds for years and very seldom need a doctor. The biggest aim for bigharma is to get all herbalists gone. Won't be all that easy ! Lots of us out here. As to alcohol, I am not sure. French, Spanish, Italians, drink wine in moderation daily. Of course that is real wine, just like I eat real, home made bread, and not the garbage they sell in the store !

I am not really being flippant, as I think your article is great stuff.

But dying from a regular intake of wine - sounds good compared with seven pills for all your ills every day.

BTW I am one of those suckers for glaucoma drops every day for the rest of my life.

They have me running scared; that the alternative is not being able to go anywhere or read Substacks.

Gotta laugh when one is ensnared.
